FLIGHT OPERATIONS

Our base rate is presently $365/hour.  This pays for the airplane, pilot, photographer and some overhead.

If a property is within 20 miles of the Medford Airport, we can generally fly to it, take a number of photos, and return to the airport in about 1/2 hour – with all conditions being favorable.

There are, however, a number of variables that may affect conditions and can, on occasion, cause an extension of the flight time.  They are:

• Airport traffic delays during departure and/or landing.
• Weather that causes us to circumnavigate clouds – or wait for clouds to clear the shooting area.
• A large area to include in the picture, which takes additional time to climb to a sufficient altitude.
• Requests for many views of the item to be photographed.
• Turbulent conditions, which cause us to take more shots in order to capture sharp images.

As mentioned elsewhere, we charge a reduced “en route” fee of $265/hour when a photo site is out of the local area.  This pays for the aircraft and pilot at their standard cost, and a reduced rate for the photographer (Who is just a passenger during this time).

We also can provide savings when we are shooting more than one job.  In this case, the savings come from sharing the time (expense) for take-off and landing – and especially total flight time when two or more sites are near each other.  We pass this savings on to our clients.

All of this is why we don’t provide a hard quote.  With all the variables, we would have to “pad” an amount to cover the contingencies.  We prefer that you trust us with an estimate, and we will do our best to exceed your expectations at the lowest price.

IMAGE DOWNLOAD, PROCESSING AND PROOFS

We charge a standard labor fee of $26 for getting the images out of the camera and into a computer.

This includes the time spent selecting and printing or e-mailing proofs to the client.  The proofs are around 3″ x 5″, and are low resolution.  This allows the client to select one or more views for final processing.

FINISHING

We use Adobe Photoshop software to sharpen, color-balance, adjust lighting, saturation, brightening, etc.  We charge a fee of $18/image.  This does not apply when a client employs their own image-editing software and opts to accept “base” images.

PRINTS

We are able to arrange for nearly any size or dimension of prints, ranging from 5″ x 7″ to 40″ x 60″ at very competitive rates.  Significant discounts apply when more than one print of an image is ordered.  Because so many options are available, it’s best to contact us and we’ll gladly provide pricing.

SHIPPING AND RUSH SERVICES

We may charge a nominal mailing fee (When we don’t deliver images to you in person).

Our fee to put your order at the top of the queue when you need it yesterday is around $20, but we can usually meet your deadline in good time – and prefer not to have to have others slide.
